FlowAg: ABCM Java Objects for Open-ChannelFlow and Irrigated Agriculture
John T. Murphy
The FlowAg toolkit is a collection of Java objects built from the ABCM framework. The ABCM Framework provides a logical framework for managing simulation input data and results. The FlowAg toolkit makes use of this framework to model:
- Canal Systems consisting of branching canal segments flowing from headgates connected to rivers. Water flow is
modeled using several optional algorithms, including an implicit finite-difference open-channel-flow solution
based on the HEC-RAS system from the Army
Corps of Engineers.
- Field systems fed by canals such that water is delivered to them and processed by them (seep and evaporation).
- An extensible framework for generic plant growth based on water availability and soil composition.
